What’s your story?
Life is one big great adventure if we choose to look beyond the day-to-day tasks that make up our day. Work, family obligations, getting gas in the car, buying groceries, picking up the kids from school, taking them to soccer practice. Is that what your day looks like? Maybe you can throw in lunch with friends or gym time, but regardless of what your day looks like, what does your story look like?
I always thought that some day I would write a book about my life and all the lessons I have learned along the way, and although there are a lot of ”juicy” things I could write in my book and great lessons that I truly do believe could be of help so many. I thought about just how each one of us has a story, an adventure, a lesson, but I really don’t think many of us truly think about it or even ask ourselves what is my story? Perhaps when we are old and our grandkids ask us about how we were when we were young our what we did, we may tell them a story or two, but what really is our lives story? Are you living the story you want to share with others?
Any book I have ever read has a conflict or a sad chapter, a happy or victorious chapter, and some chapters are just hard to read, but in the end each chapter makes a beautiful picture of the entire book. Now in my life, at 35, Yes I know I am still young, I am just beginning a chapter of happiness, but as I also write these words my mother is dying of cancer, so does this just goes to show you that happy chapters can often times have sad moments, but it does not mean the chapter is sad, or that the story is sad, it means that this chapter in my life is going to define the rest of my story, I chose to write each chapter of my life in a way where I show gratitude, forgiveness, patience love and acceptance. The chapters prior to this chapter where full of regret, shame, bitterness, impatience, and selfishness. I would like to make it clear that the chapters prior although full of sadness and conflict, where also filled with really happy moments, but the difference between the prior chapters and this one is one simple thing, I am choosing to look at this chapters and the chapters to follow to the end of my story though Gods lens.
No I cannot see what God sees, but I know how he wants me to see all things, Through Love! In Philippians 4:8 it says; whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things and the God of peace will be with you” and in Romans 8:28 it says; And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. I believe with all my heart theses words hold true and these two verses are just a few that have shaped this chapter and the chapters to come.
